Upgrades are cards that give some bonus for a Character that its placed on. The various bonus are noted by the various types of Upgrade Cards there are 5 types of Upgrades: Mission, Weapon, Deployment, Warp and Attack upgrades.
Mission: Missions are Strategic plans for Characters to complete. Mission cards can be placed Face-down in your Mission Pile during your Recruit or Defense Phases.
- You can activate a Mission from your Mission Pile during your Strategy Phase and only activate 1 Mission per turn.
- That Mission stays Face-up and active until the Defense Phase of the turn it was activated.
- During your Defense Phase, If you completed the requirements on the Mission card, you get the result of that Mission, then place it face-down in your Shells Zone.
- During your Defense Phase, If you did not complete the requirements of the Mission card, send it to the Scrapyard.
- Face-down Missions are not in play.
Weapon: Weapons are Stats and Combat Tool upgrades for Characters. A Weapon can be equipped to a single Character in your territory during your Prep or Defense Phases. The Stat increase stays with the Character until the Character or Weapon is destroyed or the Weapon is removed from the Character. You can activate the weapons' effect during your Prep or Defense Phases (unless specified on the card)
Warp: Warp cards are movement upgrades. You can use a Warp card during your Recruit or Defense Phase or either players' Battle Phase. If used during your Recruit or Defense Phase, the Character the card is played on maybe move in any direction and it's effect immediately activates. The first number is how many spaces you can move, the second, if even says that you move in a plus formation (Forward, backwards, left or right) whereas an odd number means you can move in an X formation (Top-left, Top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right).
