Characters
Characters are the main focus of a Deck. Characters are split into 3 Categories: Cybertronians (Autobots, Decepticons, etc), and Human (either as allies or their own Aliance) and Aliens. These cards are the most useful in the game, because most other effects play around them and all Upgrade cards must be played on a Character. A Character's special ability is normally activated during your Recruit or Defense Phase.
General Rules for all Characters:
All Characters have an Alliance or are an Ally of an Alliance. The current Alliances are: Autobot, Decepticon, Human, and Other (which includes Neturals) Before you start the game you will have to announce your Alliance.
There are two ways to play a Character: Recruiting and Deploying them. You you Recruit or Deploy a Character, that Character cannot move this turn.
Recruiting a Character: If you are Recruiting a Cybertronian: During your Recruit or Defense Phase, you can Recruit a Character with a Rank equal to or lower then the number of Charge Counters in Base you control. You can recruit a Character once for each Base you control each turn. If you are Recruiting a Human or Alien character: You may recruit 1 Human and/or Alien character to the spot in front of the Main Base Zone.
Deploying a Character: When you play a Character by a Card Effect it is called Deploying a Character. Deploying Characters do not affect the once per turn Recruit limit.
Battles: When 2 Characters battle, resolve the battle as such:
- If a Character in RBT Mode battles a Character in RBT Mode: The Character with the lower RBT loses the battle and is reverted to damaged ALT Mode.
- If a Character in RBT Mode battles a Character in ALT Mode: If the Character in ALT Mode has lower ALT then the Opponent's RBT, the Character is damaged and cannot use its effects during the next turn. But if the Character in RBT loses, that Character is reverted to damaged ALT Mode.
- If a Character in damaged ALT Mode battles a Character: If the Character in Damaged ALT Mode loses, that Character is destroyed.
- If both Character have the same Stat in Battle: Destroy both Characters.
Squads: If you have 2-3 Characters that are next to each other you can put them in one space to create a Squad. The head of the squad is either a Scout or a Warrior with the highest rank. Squads move together and can move 2 spaces per turn and cannot get any bonus from Planets. Squads also attack together (meaning their stats are added together while in battle), and can only separate in your territory during your Defense Phase or if a Squad is defeated. If a Squad is defeated, all Characters return to your territory (or the nearest base if they are already in your territory) and the leader becomes injured. If a Squad loses by double its stats, the leader is destroyed and the rest of the squad separates into injured status.
Rules for Cybertronians:
All Cybertronians must be defeated in battle twice to be destroyed.
Rank: All Cybertronians have a Rank: Rank 1-5 are for the general Characters. 6-8 are Commanders and high-Ranked Officers (Like Medical Officer, etc), 9 is the Sub-Commander (or the Second-in-Command) and Rank 10 is the Supreme Commanders. Rank 11 is exclusive to God-class Characters. The Rank box is on the Top Left of the Special Ability box and starts with "R" to identify it.
RBT/ALT: Cybertronians have both a RBT and ALT Stat. RBT stands for Robot mode. This is the mode that Most Transformers fight in. This form can only move 1 space per turn, but can attack any Cybertronian that is directly around them. ALT stands for Alternate mode. This is used both for Transforming to their Vehicle form and for their damaged form. While in Vehicle Mode, Characters cannot attack but can move 2 spaces per turn. A Character can only transform once per turn. When a Character is Damaged, they 'revert' to Vehicle mode but damaged. They can only move 1 space while damaged but can still attack.
Chain of Command: The Chain of Command (or CoC) is what the Character function. Some CoC's have limitations, for instance, you may only have 1 Supreme Commander/Emperor of Destruction in your Deck. Most Power-up cards will require a certain CoC to be used for the card to be played.
Rebuilding Characters: Note: This is best for Advanced Players. If you have a Character in play which states an Rebuilt Character, and the listed Character is in your hand, or you have a Copy of a Unique Character in play and a copy in your Hand, you may send the upgrade Character to your Shells zone and play the Upgraded Character who gains 500 stats.
Combiners: If you control a group of Characters that are in a squad or within a Base, are not damaged, and listed on a Combiner card, you may play a Combiner by placing all of its components under the Combiner. If a Combiner is Destroyed, separate it into its combiner components instead.
Unions: Unions can be equipped to a Character defined on the Card effect (or if none is applied, then equip to any Character). You may equip them during your Recruit Phase, or un-equip them in a Defense Phase, unless it was equipped this turn. If an Equipped Character is about to be Destroyed or Reverted, you can Destroy the Union character instead. Union Character's effects can be activated once per turn during your Recruit Phase (unless otherwise specified on the card). The Character gains half of the equipped cards stats, unless specified on the card.[/quote]
